This tool lets you pick up and move furniture, traps, and structures at your campfire, rearranging your camp without breaking everything down. No more stuck beds or misplaced drills. After hours of messing with bad layouts, I finally found out the hammer exists and it instantly fixed every mistake I’d been stuck with.
There are two main ways to get the hammer in 99 Nights In The Forest. The first way is to craft it at the Tool Workshop. The second way is to use classes like Blacksmith or Decorator and you will spawn with it. This guide covers both ways to get the hammer, materials, farming, and pro uses. Get it early, and your base becomes unstoppable and you’ll easily reach night 99.

Why the Hammer Is Essential for Survival
In 99 Nights In The Forest, your base is your home. To be honest, even if your layout is bad, it doesn’t affect gameplay much. However, it’s the place where you spend the whole night and the place where you fight the cultists. So you just want to make the base cozy and also make a good defense against cultists. The Hammer moves all the furniture like shelves, traps or wood rain storages. The only exception are teleporters and defenses like barbed wire.
Equip it and hold “E” on the items you want to move, now you can drag it to a new spot, this will save you hours of rebuilding. Without this tool, you’re stuck with fixed positions and you’ll end up wasting a lot of logs. Getting the hammer early means better wall placement, cleaner farms, proper lightning rod positioning, and more. I’ve optimized my base to the best survival base for 99 Nights In The Forest easily with it. It’s an essential tool for solo or squads reposition for AFK or raids.
How To Get Hammer in 99 Nights In The Forest Instantly

If you want to get the hammer instantly, you can buy one of the two classes at spawn.
Blacksmith class
You can get the Blacksmith class for 200 diamonds at spawn. This class comes with hammer and more perks like chance to get extra scrap from items you put in the grinder, this perk is kinda cool, but still not worth 200 diamonds.
Decorator class
Decorator class costs 40 diamonds and the class comes with hammer. That means every time you spawn, you get the hammer instantly. There are more bonuses like the furniture trader offers one more item and the furniture is discounted by 25%. Overall, the class isn’t worth it unless you really want to spawn with a hammer.
How To Craft the Hammer in 99 Nights In The Forest

You can either craft the Hammer or spawn with it thanks to the Blacksmith and Decorator classes. Crafting at Tool Workshop gives flexibility, on the other hand, class spawn is instant.
- Locate Workshop: You need to find the Tool Workshop first (it’s the anvil icon on the map).
- Break In: There is a wooden barrier, break it with your axe and get rid of 3 cultists that are inside of the workshop.
- Assemble Anvil: Find all 3 parts of the anvil (base floor, second vine floor and third vine floor) drag the parts and drop them on the anvil.
- Gather Materials: To craft hammer, you will need 5 Logs and 5 scrap. You can easily get that by chopping down trees and raiding houses for scraps.
- Craft: Find the bench beside anvil and select hammer. Drop the items on the anvil and the hammer crafts instantly.
Tip: Always take 5 logs and 5 scraps with you. Once you assemble the anvil, you can craft the hammer right away, no need to gather more materials.
Best Farming Spots for Hammer Materials

If you don’t know where to find the crafting materials, look for these:
- Logs: Get out of the workshop and chop down trees. You only need 5 logs, that’s only two trees, don’t forget to replant saplings for more wood in the future.
- Scrap: Find scrap inside houses around campfire, you only need 5 scraps.
- Bonus: If you find a house and there is a wooden chair, take it. One chair = 5 logs, easy trick.
Pro Tips To Use the Hammer Efficiently
- Move Drills: Point oil drill at campfire infinite fuel.
- Reposition Traps: Without hammer, you wouldn’t be able to drag the bear traps. And bear traps are essential for killing enemies, I use it for saving the children.
- Base Rearrange: Clip beds for space and shelves for storage.
- AFK Setup: Hammer is a must-have tool in order to AFK in the game. After you AFK, you need hammer to get out of the base.
- Squad Share: Pass the hammer to everyone for repositions (don’t do that if you don’t trust them as they could destroy the whole base).

Many players didn’t even know that there is a tool like the hammer in 99 Nights In The Forest. I literally found out after about a month that there is such a tool. I still think this is one of the most essential items in the whole game. It’s mainly for players who want to make their base cozy and build a solid defense against cultists or the deer (if the fire goes out).
